InfinitGallery Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Some common questions and answers:
How do I sign up for an Instagram account?
Unfortunately, at this time the Instagram service requires that you use the free Instagram app for iOS to create an account, so you cannot create one from within InfinitGallery. However, the Instagram app will run even on the iPad by using its windowed iPhone app support. So, to create an account, download Instagram by clicking here, install it onto your device, and tap its icon. It will prompt you to create an account the first time you run it. Then enter this username and password when logging in via InfinitGallery.

After you've created an account, you can choose to leave Instagram installed or you can delete it (InfinitGallery doesn't depend on it being installed in order to work).
My username and password aren't being accepted, what do I do?
First, make sure you are entering your username and password for your Instagram account, not some other account such as your App Store account, your email account, etc. If you need to, sign up for a new Instagram account using the instructions above.

Note that while you can use your email address to log into the Instagram app, that does not currently work in InfinitGallery, and you have to use your Instagram username instead (for now).

If you are still not successful, you can use the "Forgot password?" link on the Sign In screen. The Instagram service will then offer to send and e-mail allowing you to reset your password.
How do I take a picture or upload an existing photo with InfinitGallery?
Unfortunately, at this time the Instagram service doesn't provide a way for other apps such as InfinitGallery to upload photos to the Instagram service — it only supports viewing and related activities. In order to add a photo, you currently have to install the Instagram app and do so from there.
How do I use InfinitGallery with my iPad in landscape orientation?
InfinitGallery 1.1 now supports landscape orientation. Simply rotate your iPad to that orientation and it will reconfigure the screen. If this fails, check to make sure you have disabled the rotation lock on your iPad.
How do I view my Instagram News feed (which shows photos being liked by friends, etc.) in InfinitGallery?
Unfortunately, at this time the Instagram service doesn't provide this information to applications that are built on its public API such as InfinitGallery. If this is something you would like, contact Instagram and let them know you would like other applications to be able to show you this information.
